Overview of NSSF

The Developer is Uganda’s National Social Security Fund (NSSF). NSSF manages assets worth over $ 4.3 billion invested in Fixed Income, Equities and Real Estate assets within the East Africa region. It exercises prudence in pursuit of opportunities and does not accept any risks that can significantly erode member value and/or damage its reputation. The NSSF currently owns about 2000 acres of prime land in Kampala and metropolitan areas. According to the NSSF`s Investment policy, the real estate strategy entails the unlocking of value on prime land acquired through land banking over the years by conceptualising mixed use, residential and commercial projects.

Through extensive market research and exploring global trends, the NSSF took the bold and visionary decision to create a development which would be a “first of its kind” not only for Uganda, but for East Africa, in terms of scale and urban design principles.

The re-imagined development will also serve to uplift the Fund’s members by increasing the return on their social security benefits, as well as offering both construction and long-term employment opportunities which will become available in the various commercial, retail, hospitality and leisure elements of the development.

The development will be rolled out in phases over the next ten years, and the first phase sees the completion of 305 high-end housing units, along with world-class infrastructure and facilities.
